Traffic on Eastern Cape roads has increased as holidaymakers return home and others travel back to their places of work.

In and around Mthatha provincial and local traffic authorities dispatched teams on various routes to conduct visible policing operations.

Mthatha is a central point with the R61 and the N2 going through the town.

The R61 is a popular arterial connecting Beaufort West, Komani, Mthatha and Port Shepstone.

The N2 runs from East London through to Kokstad in Kzn.
