Ugandans are hoping for a peaceful post election period following the declaration of results on Saturday, handing long serving president Yoweri Museveni a fifth mandate. Oposition presidential candidate Kizza Besigye, who is under house arrest, has rejected the outcome adding that his party and supporters were not prepared to cooperate with what he described as a military regime. President Museveni was declared the winner on Sartuday, after he garnered 60% of the votes cast.
