U.S. Citizen Accused Of Trying To Subvert Zimbabwe Government

Published
A Zimbabwe court at the weekend upheld subversion charges against an American citizen. 25-year-old Martha O'Donovan was charged on Friday for attempting to subvert the Zimbabwean government. She faces 11 days in jail until her next court hearing -- and 20 years in prison should she be convicted. She's accused of insulting president Robert Mugabe following a Tweet she sent out. Her lawyer says she was not informed of the more serious charges. Her lawyer will move to appy for bail at the country's High Court on Monday.
