Uyinene remembered during 16 Days of Activism

As the country observes the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children campaign, friends of murdered University of Cape Town student, Uyinene Mrwetyana, reflect on her legacy.

Six years ago, the first year UCT student was raped and murdered by a post office employee, Luyanda Botha, at the Clareinch Post Office in Claremont, Cape Town.

Botha was sentenced to life imprisonment for her rape and murder.

SABC News spoke to Uyinene's friends to reflect on the brutal killing of their childhood friend in 2019 that ignited the #AmINext social movement.
