Deputy President Paul Mashatile has reaffirmed government's commitment to closing the HIV and TB treatment gap through the national Close the Gap campaign. Speaking at the World AIDS Day commemoration in Ga-Masemola, Limpopo, Mashatile described the campaign as a call to action, urging multi-sectoral coordination to sustain community-based interventions such as door-to-door, ward-to-ward, and district-level mobilisations. He highlighted the progress South Africa has made in combating HIV and TB, while stressing that continued collaboration is key to ending the epidemic.
