Zimbabwe is promoting its peaceful status in hopes of attracting more tourists. Travel and tourism continue to be vital for economic growth. The government has embarked on a drive to market the peace that prevails in the country to attract visitors sceptical about traveling to Southern Africa. The upgrading of the country's airports -- mainly the Victoria Falls International Airport last year -- has generated renewed interest in the country's tourism industry. The government has lined up several activities this year to help to market the various destinations in order to generate revenue.
