Preserving diverse cultures is the order of the day in Groot Marico in the North West with residents sharing their knowledge through various activities.

The town is known for a number of things, in 1963 former President Jacob Zuma was travelling with other Umkhonto we Sizwe recruits to Botswana for military training when he was arrested.
