Since October, members of Parliament serving on the Ad Hoc Committee looking into concerns around national security, have been in the throes of investigating allegations of corruption-

And the possibility of criminal syndicates operating in cahoots with high-ranking politicians and government officials.

Since the appearance of the first witness, KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lt General NhlanhlaMkhwanazi, on the 7th of October, MPs have spent hours dealing with the allegations, trying to get to the bottom of them.

And while the nation's eyes have been glued to proceedings, there were moments when the unusually long sittings, which often ran late into the night, took their toll on MPs.
