The Free State department of education says reopening schools much earlier for matric learners is a strategy to ease them into their final year of high school.
Many schools across the Mangaung Metro education district, particularly in the township, reopened earlier this week, to help learners revise their grade 11 work in some key subjects.
These include mathematics, physical science and accounting.
