The Border Management Authority (BMA) has entered the final stretch of its return leg operation, which was launched at the beginning of this month and is expected to conclude later this week.
Authorities say traveller volumes have surged as holidaymakers return home following the festive season. In response to the increased movement, the BMA has deployed additional personnel to critical ports of entry and intensified enforcement operations, resulting in the interception of numerous undocumented individuals. BMA Commissioner Dr Michael Masiapato says while efforts continue to strengthen border control, authorities still face significant challenges.
