We now turn a spotlight on a growing concern threatening the future of South Africa's youth, the rising in numbers of bogus higher learning institutions.

These institutions lure students with promises of top level education and invaluable experience, however, leaving them with worthless qualifications and shattered dreams.

In a country where education is a lifeline, these illegal institutions exploit hope and desperation. We ask: what more can be done to protect vulnerable learners and restore trust in the education system as hundreds of learners from the class of 2025 will be rushing to get accepted at institutions of higher learning?

Joining us is Dr Shaheeda Essack-Director: Private Higher Institutions, Department of Education, to unpack the issue and alert parents to what they should look at before they pay.
