Humanitarian aid organisation, Gift of the Givers, has appealed to the Home Affairs Department to assist residents affected by the fire that broke out in Site 5 informal settlement in Du Noon on Friday.
It's estimated that over three thousand people lost their homes in the blaze. As those affected scramble to rebuild, many community leaders are concerned that people who have lost their identity documents and birth certificates in the fire will not be able to access much-needed services.
