Rights advocates from a range of organisations have called on the football's governing body, FIFA, to address the rising attacks on immigrants in the United States.

On Wednesday, they held a press conference to raise urgent concerns around deportations, surveillance, and xenophobia as the country prepares to co-host the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

These warnings come in the aftermath of FIFA's decision to cancel its anti-discrimination messaging campaign in June.
