At least eight people have been killed and six are in hospital in a collision between a minibus taxi and a truck on the N3 highway between van Reenen's Pass and Montrose in the Free State.
The affected part of the road has been closed.
Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution when approaching the crash scene and follow traffic instructions and signs.
