Eight people have been killed in a collision between a minibus taxi and a truck on the N3 highway between van Reenen's Pass and Montrose in the Free State.
Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Sipho Towa says the affected part of the road has been closed.
Motororists are urged to exercise extreme caution when approaching the crash scene and follow traffic instructions and signs.
