Gauteng Police Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni says over 26 000 individuals have been arrested for various crimes since October this year. This includes murder, car-hijacking, possession of illegal firearms and ammunition. Mthombeni revealed the stats during the Safer Festive Season operation in Gemiston, Ekurhuleni, East of Johannesburg.
