One in four people globally, or 2.3 billion people, face moderate or severe food insecurity.

That means they have to regularly skip meals.

This figure is up by 335 million since 2019.

The richest 1 percent of people in the world have seen their average wealth increase by 1.3 million US dollars since 2000, while someone in the poorest half of humanity saw their wealth increase by an average of 585 US dollars over the same period.

This were part of the report released recently by the G20 Extraordinary Committee of Independent Experts on Global Inequality.

To talk more about this, we are joined by Executive Director of the Institute for Economic Justice, Doctor Gilad Isaacs.
