Ugandan and Kenyan authorities, in partnership with the world health organization, have signed a cross-border surveillance and response pact to handle epidemics in the two countries.
This follows the recent outbreak of the deadly Marburg disease in Kween district, eastern Uganda that left three people dead and other suspected cases isolated in treatment centers.
The authorities say, two people, suspected to have contracted the disease crossed from Uganda into Kenya to seek treatment from traditional healers.
