The Tlhaloganyo school principal says, the loss of one of his teachers just as the 2026 academic year is about to start, is a great loss that will be felt for a while.
35-year-old Kenosi Mashishi, is one of two people who died, after they were struck by lightning during the Diturupa Festival, in the Mathibestad village in the North West, earlier this month.
The Moretele Local Municipality, held a memorial service at the school to honour Mashishi and the second deceased, 27-year-old Koketso Shikwambane.
The two were part of about 40 people who were struck by lightening during the annual New Years Festival in Dertig.
A minor is still in ICU.
