Earlier, Commission wrapped up suspended EMPD Deputy Chief Julius Mkhwanazi's testimony.
During questioning Mkhwanazi admitted to having a close personal relationship with businessman Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala - a relationship he described as so close that he treated Matlala like a brother.
Initially Mkhwanazi denied ever receiving money directly from Matlala. But under further questioning, he conceded that Matlala would often give him money for petrol and food.
Mkhwanazi also revealed that Matlala once assisted him financially when he needed to bury a sibling.
