Today, the world observes International Human Rights Day.

It marks the anniversary of the UN's 1948 adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).

This year's (2025) theme is Human Rights, Our Everyday Essentials.

It also marks the 77th anniversary of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

To reflect on the significance of International Human Rights Day, we are joined by a Senior Gender Justice & International Law Fellow, MADRE, Wendy Isaack.
