Protests disrupt start of 2022 academic year at Nelson Mandela University

In the Eastern Cape, protests at the Gqeberha and George campuses of the Nelson Mandela University have disrupted the first academic day at the institution.
The protests were sparked by fees issues and delays of NSFAS payments.
Many students have not received allowances for registration, books or accommodation.
