Limpopo prominent businessman Rameez Patel has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife at the Polokwane High Court in Limpopo.

Patel shot dead Fatima Patel in 2015 at their house in Nirvana, Polokwane and blamed it on intruders.

Judge Joseph Raulinga said that the murder was planned.

Judge Raulinga also sentenced Patel to five years’ imprisonment on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and three years for possession of ammunition.
