The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) recently marked World Day for Audiovisual Heritage.
This is a global initiative led by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) and the Co-ordinating Council of Audiovisual Archives Associations (CCAAA) to raise awareness about the importance of preserving our audiovisual history.
The SABC showcased the vital part of SA's cultural heritage with an exhibition showing how far the journey of documenting and preserving has come.
