South Africa feeds 'COVID hungry' with waste food

Published
In South Africa, over 10 million tons of food goes to waste every year, while more than 16 million people go hungry every day. A group of local chefs calling themselves 'Chefs with Compassion' have decided to gather all fit-for-consumption waste food, cook it and feed it to thousands of people burdened by so-called COVID-induced hunger. The food that would have ended up in landfills is now saving hundreds of lives daily.
