South Africa Moves To Address Disparities In Land Ownership

South Africa has taken the first step in giving government power to expropriate land to address disparities in land ownership. The land expropriation bill will replace a 1975 act and effectively also cancels government's previous approach to land claims. The bill still has to pass through the other house in parliament, but that is seen as a forgone conclusion, given the ANC's overwhelming majority.
