South Africa's consumer price inflation eased more than expected in November to 3.5% year-on-year from 3.6% in October.

According to Stats SA, the latest data also showed prices fell 0.1% month-on-month.

Economists say this offers some encouragement to the Reserve Bank, ahead of its next policy meeting next year.
