The Bapo Ba Mogale Traditional Council from Bapong in the North West, says they are confident the scourge of illegal mining in the area will soon come to an end as a result of the intervention by the Acting police Minister Firoz Cachalia. The Acting Minister together with the North West Premier, Lazarus Mokgosi were in the area to engage with the Bapo ba Mogale Traditional Council following a spike of illegal mining activities in the area. Police have arrested 21 illegal miners and seized heavy machinery as they pursue the masterminds.
