Teen injured in Thokoza cash-in-transit heist

Police are on the scene of a cash-in-transit robbery scene along Khumalo street in Thokoza, Ekurhuleni. It is believed a gang of robbers driving in a private vehicle rammed onto a security cash van.

A charred vehicle believed to have been used by the robbers stands next to it. They made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A 14-year-old girl has been injured after being struck by a stray bullet during the robbery. Police say the teenager was taken for medical treatment, and investigations are continuing.

It is believed a gang of robbers travelling in a private vehicle rammed into a security cash van, causing it to overturn. A charred vehicle, believed to have been used by the suspects, is standing next to the cash van.
