Allegations of maladministration and corruption continue to surface at the University of South Africa. The Save-Unisa Forum, led by a former student, Simamkele Xani, is calling on Vice-Chancellor, Professor Puleng LenkaBula, to step down. LenkaBula was reappointed for a second 5-year term late last year, after she became the first woman to lead the institution in 2020. Her tenure has been marred by several controversies, including allegations of purging senior staff members and abusing her position. Recently, the Vice-Chancellor's academic credentials have also been questioned.
