Communities in Mossel Bay in the Western Cape are now dealing with the aftermath of this week's devastating wildfires, with damaged homes, scorched vegetation and displaced families counting the cost.

At least eleven houses were destroyed on Tuesday when fires swept through Aalwyndal, Island View and Vakansieplaas.

The worst of the flames has been contained, but teams remain on high alert for any flare-ups.
