The Kouga Municipality in the Eastern Cape earlier issued an urgent evacuation notice due to raging veld fires in Zwartenbosch near Humansdorp towards Hankey.
Kouga Mayor Hattingh Bornman says the fire seems to be spreading towards Jeffreys Bay and north of Humansdorp.
He has asked residents to stay calm and take direction from the municipality.
