It has been a week of political developments in South Africa.
The South African Communist Party's National Chairperson Blade Nzimande confirmed that the party is facing several structural and ideological challenges and he has called for the party to hold a Special National Congress.
Recently the party disbanded its KwaZulu-Natal leadership structure after what have been seen as opposing views in its plans to contest the 2026 local government elections independently from the ANC.
To talk more about this and other developing political stories, we are joined virtually by Professor Sethulego Matebesi, Political analyst and Head of the Department of Sociology at the University of Free State.
In the studio, we are joined by SABC News Senior Political Reporter Samkele Maseko.
