BOSA Leader, Dr Mmusi Maimane has challenged the official 88% matric pass rate, saying the "real" pass rate is significantly lower at 54.7%. Maimane says the numbers do not add up as hundreds of thousands of learners are lost along the way and are not accounted for in the stats.

The Deputy Director General at the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition, Ambassador Xolelwa Mlumbi-Peter says South Africa continues to engage with the US Administration. This comes after the U.S. House of Representatives approved a three-year extension of the African Growth and Opportunity Act, paving the way for the bill to go to the Senate. Mlumbi-Peter says congress will have more weight on the final decision. If passed, AGOA would be extended until December 2028.

Security strategist, Andy Mashaile says the decision by Private investigator, Paul O' Sullivan to refuse to appear in person before the Ad Hoc Committee is baseless. O' Sullivan has refused to appear in person before Parliament's Ad Hoc Committee, citing security concerns. Mashaile says the committee's rules prohibit it from holding evidence virtually.
