The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Velenkosini Hlabisa delivers the inaugural Babita Deokaran Lecture in Cape Town.
Organised by the Anti-Corruption Centre for Education and Research at Stellenbosch University's Business School, together with the Deokaran family.
Coinciding with International Anti-Corruption Day, the lecture honours Babita Deokaran's legacy of courage and integrity, marking four years since Deokaran's assassination in August 2021, outside her Johannesburg home.
At the time, she was Acting Chief Financial Officer of the Gauteng Department of Health and a key witness in personal protective equipment procurement investigations.
