Speaking during his delivery of the inaugural Babita Deokaran Lecture in Cape Town, Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Velenkosini Hlabisa, said government must take decisive action to protect all whistle blowers. The event honours Deokaran's legacy of courage and integrity, four years since her murder after flagging irregularities relating to suppliers and service providers that were conducting business with Tembisa Hospital.
