A new video of the Deputy Mayor of the Bitou Municipality in Plettenberg Bay allegedly firing a gun, shows her handing the weapon to her bodyguard afterwards.
The initial video showed Councillor Nokuzola Kolwapi firing a weapon to celebrate her son's homecoming ceremony in KwaNokuthula following his initiation.
In a statement, she claimed it was a toy gun.
The Bitou Municipality has confirmed that the bodyguard is from law enforcement.
