A veld fire along the N2 on the western side of Gqeberha has led to the closure of the road as firefighting teams battle to contain the blaze.

The fire is in the vicinity of the wind farm. It has been burning since yesterday and flared up today due to strong winds. The metro has requested the public to steer clear of the area due to the dangerous conditions. Currently 10 firefighting vehicles are on the scene.
