A veld fire along the N2 on the western side of Gqeberha has led to the closure of the road as fire-fighting teams are on the ground to contain the blaze. Their work is being hampered by strong winds. The fire is burning in the windfarm area, The metro have requested the public to remain clear of the area due the dangerous conditions. Currently 10 firefighting vehicles are on the ground. The fire has been burning since yesterday and flared up today due to the strong winds.
