The Khampepe Commission of Inquiry, chaired by retired Constitutional Court Justice Sisi Khampepe, is a judicial commission established by President Cyril Ramaphosa in May this year to investigate allegations of political suppression of investigations and prosecutions of apartheid-era crimes recommended by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
Its mandate is too inquire into whether any person or persons improperly influenced or interfered with the investigation and prosecution of TRC cases by the National Prosecuting Authority and the South African Police Service.
