Mpumalanga Education Dept refutes ghost workers claims

The Department of Education in Mpumalanga has refuted claims that there are ghost workers receiving benefits including, salaries. These allegations are contained in an Auditor General's report claiming the department suffered a R1.8 billion expenditure. According to the Department's spokesperson, Gerald Sambo these purported irregularities are as a result of administrative delays in the department. However Sambo says the department does recoup the monies.
